We have a state of the art X-ray machine, allowing X-rays to be taken in the field and assessed onsite.
Our vets are also equipped with a mobile ultrasound machine, which can be used for musculoskeletal and reproduction examinations.
We are also able to perform airway endoscopies and gastroscopes from the comfort of your own yard.
Our vets can provide your horses with a passport, and insert microchips for identification.
Melissa offers both 2 stage and 5 stage pre-purchase examinations, with bloods taken for the VDS. There is also the option for additional diagnostics upon client request, such as x-rays and blood testing.
Melissa is an Official Veterinarian, meaning she is able to issue export health certificates if you are transporting your horse outside of Great Britain.
We offer routine Equine Influenza and Tetanus vaccines, as well as vaccines for Equine Herpes Virus if required.
Our vets are able to perform various examinations to investigate poor performance, including lameness work-ups, blood testing and gastroscopy.
All of our vets are able to perform routine dentals to keep your horse’s mouth healthy. We also have access to an oroscope for more detailed examinations.
We are able to perform both Laser and Shockwave therapy on your yard to treat a wide range of conditions.
We can offer regenerative medicines such as platelet enriched plasma (PRP) and stem cell therapy.
Our practice is also equipped with a machine enabling us to extract and inject Alpha-2 macroglobulins. This is an innovative technique which is becoming increasingly popular in equine practice, which allows anti-inflammatory products to be extracted from a horse’s own blood, then reinjected into joints and soft tissues.
Our vets are able to perform basic surgical procedures from the comfort of your own yard, with your horse placed under sedation.
We are able to perform surgeries such as castrations, laser sarcoid removals and suturing wounds closed.
We have various means of investigating medical conditions, including in-house faecal worm egg counts and access to external laboratories for blood testing. Our vets are all equipped with an ophthalmascope and other equipment to investigate eye conditions.
Our wide range of high-quality equipment for veterinary diagnostic imaging helps ensure our veterinarian can provide a high-quality standard of veterinary care for your equine.
We have one of the most efficient latest mobile X-ray machines. This allows high-quality X-rays to be taken in the field and immediately assessed on site, whilst also producing digital copies that can be kept for your horses record.

Our mobile ultrasound machine enables us to take accurate real-time images for appropriate diagnosis. Our ultrasound is most commonly used for musculoskeletal or reproduction examinations.

We use the K Laser Cube Performance 30w, which is a class IV laser, meaning it is one of the most powerful and compact therapeutic lasers globally. The powerful class IV laser can emit the required amount of energy in a shorter time frame then other less powerful lasers. This means that we can provide a quicker, non-invasive, and pain free treatment service for our equine patients helping to keep improved welfare.
Laser therapy promotes the bodies healing and repair responses and is therefore beneficial in a large range of treatment plans to improve equine maintenance, performance, and rehabilitation. Laser therapy creates antimicrobial, biostimulation, and analgesic effects, which cause an increase in cellular energy and improve tissue regeneration. As a result, cells can then absorb nutrients and remove waste substances more efficiently.
Our K Laser machine can also be used for surgical procedures. Most commonly, our vets use this feature for removal of sarcoids and masses. We are able to perform this on your yard with your horse under sedation, avoiding the need for referral to a hospital.

Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) is a non-invasive, emerging technology that stimulates the bodies healing process by causing increased blood flow to affected areas. Therefore, ESWT is helpful in the treatment of soft tissue, musculoskeletal, and bone issues.
Shock wave therapy has been shown to be particularly beneficial in treating Injuries at the soft tissue-bone interface (such as kissing spines), which are often unsuitable for surgery and difficult to medicate.

Acupuncture has been evolved from ancient techniques of placing needles into specific anatomical locations to help reduce pain and improve recovery. The addition of acupuncture as a component to an equines treatment plan can be very beneficial and may be particularly useful for patients rehabilitation following surgery, such as spinal or orthopaedic cases.
Our head veterinarian Dr Melissa Packer has completed the ABVA foundation course in acupuncture and is a member of the ABVA (Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists). Acupuncture can be a good addition to many equine treatment plans to help pain management and recovery. We encourage you to contact us for more information about our acupuncture service.
