“My goal from the age of 7 years was to be a veterinary surgeon. I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 2003 and spent several years in first opinion practice. I gained a clinical training scholarship from the Horse Trust, in 2007, at the Philip Leverhulme Equine Hospital, Leahurst, Liverpool in Equine Surgery. This opportunity provided training in referral hospitals and research. I gained a RCVS certificate in Equine Soft Tissue surgery and then in 2015 established the company Melissa Packer Equine Veterinary Services Limited”.
“I qualified as a vet from the university of Nottingham in December 2024. I started horse riding at 8 years old, and soon after I decided that I wanted to become an equine vet! I am originally from Lancashire, but have spent the last 5 years in the midlands whilst studying at vet school.
In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors, particularly if horses or dogs are involved! I joined Melissa and team in April 2025 and am loving meeting all the clients and their horses.”
“I’m Tash, the one usually at the end of the phone in the office 🙂 I have worked for Melissa since August 2024 and I love it. I have learnt so much within the practice already and have met so many lovely clients and their horses. I have been trained as a KLaser operator and aim to expand my skills and knowledge within the practice.
I learnt to ride from 7 years old and have a keen interest in Dressage. I love spending time outdoors in my free time with my horse Jack. I am also a keen photographer of equine events on days off from the practice.”
